Daniel Sewell, MD

Dr. Daniel Sewell started Vista Complete Care in Auburn in 2010. He grew up in Loomis and graduated from Del Oro High School. He did his Family Practice Residency in Arizona, where he was an Outstanding First Year Resident and later Chief Resident at Scottsdale Healthcare. He served as Medical Director of Life Care Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix and Medical Director of Sierra Doctors Medical Group in Auburn. Dr. Sewell is Board Certified in Family Practice and has a special interest in Sports Medicine. He is also fluent in Spanish. He lives in Greenwood with his wife and youngest son. Their three other sons have graduated and are pursuing their interests. Dr. Sewell enjoys running, biking, fishing, hunting, and diving in his free time.

Vista Complete Care

Gordon Marler, DO

Dr. Marler has been in healthcare for nearly 20 years. He worked as a research assistant and CNA at the Hunstman Cancer Institute while attending Bringham Young University and as a CNA while attending Bringham Young University -Idaho. where he graduated with a BS in Biology and minored in Chemistry. During his time at BYU-I, he was awarded an Academic and Leadership Scholarship and was a nominee for the Man Of The Year Award. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. Dr. Marler has held a plethora of leadership roles during the course of his career, including chief resident of family medicine at Summa Western Reserve Hospital. He was also an Associate Director for CHARM (a non-profit organization), participated in BYU-I Student Government, and was the President of his society. He has even dabbled in education as an Anatomy and Physiology Instructor. Dr. Marler is fluent in Spanish and enjoys outdoor activities. He especially loves spending time with his wife, Anngel, and their 7 children.

Vista Complete Care

Trisha Smith, FNP-C

Trisha Smith is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has been with Vista Complete Care since January 2015. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Seattle University and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Florida Atlantic University. She holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of work, Trish enjoys traveling, hiking, backpacking, camping, and photography.

Dave Heitter, PA-C

Dave is a veteran Physician Assistant who has been practicing and also works in Emergency Departments all over Northern California. Dave enjoys spending time at home with his two dogs as well as riding his motorcycle.

Ryan Holt, FNP-C

Ryan is originally from Texas and has lived in beautiful Placer County for the past 15 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing where she graduated with Honors. She then worked for 5 years on a highly acute cardiac telemetry unit following her passion in nursing, while pursuing her master’s degree in nursing to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner program at Samuel Merritt University. Ryan spends her time away from work keeping busy with her 2-year old son, husband and 3 dogs enjoying and exploring nature, travelling, gardening and eating good food!

Cheyenne Saunders, PA-C

Cheyenne is a board-certified Physician Assistant from Sacramento, CA. She completed her Bachelor's of Science at California State University, Monterey Bay, where she majored in Molecular Biology. There, she worked with a primary care physician providing medical care to the homeless population of Chinatown Salinas, CA. Following her undergraduate work, she was a lead medical assistant for 3 years at a Sacramento Urgent Care prior to attending PA school. She received her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies through the University of the Pacific. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her 2 Dachshunds (Chem & Bear), baking, and keeping her succulent garden alive.

Shaunda Crane, NP-BC, PMHNP, MSN, PHN

Shaunda Crane, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with
more than 17 years of experience in emergency, surgical, psychiatric, wound care, and community-based healthcare. She has held clinical and leadership positions at UC Davis Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and Marshall Medical Center. She holds dual masters degrees in Nursing and Sociology/Social Research, along with
certifications in Psychiatry, Public Health Nursing, and Wound/Ostomy Care. Currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Shaunda is focused on developing programs that expand access to quality care in rural communities.
Shaunda has implemented and led patient care programs across diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, hospital-at-home, street medicine, and Transitions of Care. She has successfully managed electronic medical record (EMR) builds, grant-funded initiatives, a pet therapy program, and cross-agency collaborations to include a Community Health Worker program that brought more people healthcare services by collaborating with passionate community groups. Her expertise centers on integrated, patient-focused care, with a passion for collaborating with others to find innovative solutions that increase access and improve patient outcomes.
Outside of work, Shaunda enjoys traveling, tending her orchard, and spending time with her family and dogs. She lives locally and is excited to join Vista Complete Care, drawn to its
commitment to excellence and dedication to reaching patients through innovation and responsiveness to community needs.

Gerdy Pluviose, MSN, FNP-C

Gerdy Pluviose is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of healthcare experience and a deep commitment to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care. She specializes in managing chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, while also providing preventive care services for patients of all ages — from children to older adults.

Gerdy began her career as a critical care registered nurse, gaining extensive experience in intensive care units across California and Texas. Her advanced training includes a Master of Science in Nursing from South University, where she completed over 780 hours of clinical training in adult health, women’s health, pediatrics, and primary care.

She has served diverse communities in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including UC Davis Health, Petaluma Health Center, and Kaiser Permanente. Known for her approachable manner and strong clinical judgment, Gerdy strives to build lasting relationships with her patients and empower them through education and personalized care.

Outside of work, Gerdy enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, gardening, learning languages, and volunteering in the community.

Christine Glaves-Smith, DNP(c), FNP-C

Christine Glaves-Smith is a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered primary care. With over 20 years of critical care nursing experience, Christine brings a deep understanding of complex medical conditions and a commitment to delivering evidence-based, holistic care to every patient she serves.

Christine began her nursing career in neuro and cardiac intensive care before joining Kaiser Permanente in Roseville, where she has served as a Clinical Nurse IV and Relief Charge Nurse since 2004. In these roles, she has provided advanced care for high-acuity patients, led educational initiatives, and served as a preceptor and mentor for new staff. Her leadership extends beyond the bedside—Christine has contributed to hospital committees focused on stroke care and nursing excellence.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, her Nurse Practitioner degree with distinction from United States University, and is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Walden University. Christine is also a Daisy Award recipient and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Known for her approachable style and strong advocacy for patient education, Christine strives to empower individuals to take an active role in their health and well-being. Her extensive clinical background, advanced education, and passion for compassionate care make her an invaluable part of the Vista Complete Care team.

Mekenzie "Rose" Nelson, PA-C

Mekenzie "Rose" Nelson, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care across all stages of life. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant degree from Loma Linda University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Biola University. 

Mekenzie completed comprehensive clinical training across a wide range of specialties, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, psychiatry, emergency medicine, general surgery, and neonatal intensive care. Her diverse experience allows her to approach patient care with a well-rounded, collaborative perspective. She has a particular interest in pediatrics, chronic disease management, and supporting patients and families through all aspects of their health journey.

Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Mekenzie worked as a medical assistant in Roseville, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and developed a deep appreciation for building meaningful connections with patients. This foundation continues to shape her attentive, empathetic, and approachable style of care.

Mekenzie is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and holds an active California Physician Assistant license. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the California Academy of Physician Associates (CAPA).

Outside of the clinic, Mekenzie enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where patients feel respected and well cared for. She also prefers to be called Rose.
